The present invention relates to an aid for golfers and comprises gloves with support for the wrists of the golfer in question.
Many golfers and especially when beginners and intermediate golfers have problems getting a stable swing, i.e. that the swing movement is repeated the same stroke after stroke once you have learned to hit real swings. These said difficulties can arise during different stages of the swing, for example at backswing and at downswing at the ball hit itself.
Possibly also at the after-swing. Unwanted blows such as slice or hook are the result. All this due to the golfer in question not being able to keep his wrists in stable positions.
It is known with aids for golfers, and which are at least allowed to be used during the actual training of the shots, e.g. during training rounds on tracks.
Known aids that have attempted to solve said problems are shown in, for example, EP 0658322 A1, US 3,606,343A, US 4,047,250 A and WO 98111850. Said known solutions succeed in solving said problems but they are not suitable for convenient use by the golfers, which also showed because they have not been a success in the market. For example, EP 0 658,322 A1 discloses a golf glove which is used only on one hand and which seems to be suitable for use in most cases but which, however, has a short length and which therefore makes it difficult to achieve the desired effect. The glove has alternating supports on the underside or top of the same but is not included in any pair of gloves.
The main object of the present invention is therefore primarily to solve e.g. the above problems in a simple and effective way.
Said object is achieved by means of an aid according to the present invention of the kind indicated above and which is mainly characterized in that in a pocket in each of a pair of included gloves, at the area of a collar of the respective glove and on its upper side is a receptive or adjustable disc-shaped rigid support body receptive to the desired individual angle, that the collar has a number of tabs with Velcro fasteners on the upper side of the collar while on the underside of the collar a bracket is arranged, whereby stabilization of the golfer's wrists is provided to prevent backward bending of the wrists. .
Because the stiffener is now located on the upper side of the wrist (dorsal), it does not prevent the grip of the club.
Known solutions do not solve unspoken problems.
The aid according to the present invention thus aims at stabilizing the golfer's wrists during the swing itself. If the wrist position varies too much at the moment of impact, as stated above, the result is that the golf ball sometimes goes to the right and sometimes to the left, i.e. slice or hook. The aid consists of a pair of golf gloves, one right and one left, with an extra long shaft about 10 cm longer than what conventional golf gloves normally show. A pocket is sewn on to the top of each glove and a slightly cushioning material is sewn into the bottom of said pocket. In said pocket it is intended to place a stabilizer of suitable thickness and preferably with substantially the same length and width as said pocket has. The stabilizer can be made of, for example, metal, plastic or other suitable moldable material. The pocket can show comfortable and comfortable padding, preferably in the interior of the glove.
Said pocket can, however, be sewn onto the inside of the glove or the outside of the collar part of the glove at the top of the glove. The gloves are further equipped with 2-4 Velcro strap locks to tighten both the above-mentioned stabilizer and the handle itself and make the stabilizer provide the intended support for the wrist. At the underside of the glove shaft, internally and / or externally, there are sturdy straps that abut the upper side. These straps can be made of fabric, plastic or other suitable material.
The above-mentioned pocket and stabilizer are thus placed over the wrist so that neither the right nor the left hand can be bent backwards in the wrist when the present golf gloves are put on and locked. Depending on the needs of the individual user, the stabilizer can be moved slightly, up or down on the glove, but it is not limited to any fixed location. It is important, however, that the stabilizer is always placed a few centimeters below or above the wrist of the golfer himself.
The invention is described below as a preferred embodiment, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows a pair of gloves according to the invention seen from its underside, Fig. 2 shows said pair of gloves seen from above, Figs. 3-3A shows one of the gloves in open position, Fig. 4 shows one of the gloves in open position and with external support body and with separate support body, Fig. 5-6 shows the open part of the glove and with the support body partly in position in an associated pocket of the glove and Fig. 7 shows the glove on a hand and locked over a wrist.
More particularly, the invention comprises an aid 1 for golfer 2 and comprises a pair of gloves 3, 4 which are provided with support 5 for stabilizing the wrists 6 of the golfer 2 in question. The unique thing about the aid 1 is that in a pocket 7 in each of a pair of gloves 3, 4, at the area of a collar 8 of the respective glove 3, 4 and on its upper side 9, a to an individual angle X desired can be formed or adjustable disc-shaped rigid support body 10 receivable. Said collar 8 has a number of flaps 11, 12 with Velcro fastener 13, 14 on the upper side 9 of the collar, while on the underside 15 of the collar a bracket 16 is arranged, whereby stabilization of the golfer's wrists 6 is provided to prevent accidental rearward bending of the wrists 6. .
The above-mentioned velcro fasteners 13, 14 on the tabs 11, 12 acting as tension straps are arranged to be connected to fittingly fastened velcro fasteners 17, 18 located on the upper side 9 of the collar 9.
Said support body receivable pocket 7, which is preferably provided with padding 19 in order to prevent the support body 10 from rubbing against the golfer 2's wrists 6, is provided with a closing device 20 in the form of Velcro fastening means.
Preferably, said pocket 7 is arranged internally 21 in the glove 3, 4 on the inside of the collar 8, 4 of the glove 3 and extends from the area of the outer edge region 8A of the collar 8 into the hand receiving portion 22 of the glove to approximately its half length. It should be mentioned that the collar 8 has a length L which is approximately half the length H of the glove.
The collar 8 is open along its entire length L on one side-facing portion 23 of the glove, where an elastic portion 24 is arranged to bridge said side opening folded from its fastening portion 25 by means of a wedge-shaped opening portion 26.
Said flaps 11, 12 with which the gloves 3, 4 are closed and tightened are attached to said elastic portion 24. Velcro fasteners 13, 14; 17, 18 are received on the inside 11A, 12A of said 12 and are connected to the lower tabs 11, the side 15 on the inwardly facing side of the collar 8, and where fastened inelastic and similarly functioning textiles or the like are attached. In order to be able to effectively tighten the gloves 3, 4 so that the palm rest 5 functions effectively, at least two flaps 11, 12 are connected to said elastic portion 24.
Said support body 10 is preferably formed of a flat consisting of plastic or metal, about 2-4 cm wide, about 10-15 cm long and about 0.3-0.6 cm thick rail, and which is arranged to be angled up by between about 15 ° -30 ° angle S, or to another desired angle seen from its straight extent with cza l / 3 of its length seen from its front part 10A and preferably provided with a further upward angle 28 at its front party.
A said support body 10 can also be manufactured with the desired angle from the beginning and can thus be acquired with already the right angle X and tucked into the said receiving pocket 7 of the glove to function directly.
The nature and function of said golf aids means that the golfer, after use, has a feeling for the right position to grip the clubs and hit at the right angle at e.g. competitions.
The invention is of course not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the accompanying drawings.
